The best way to love the planet Earth...

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 06, 2008:
The best way to love the planet is to love oneself and to realize the interconnectedness of each other and all elements in the world and the universe. It all begins with each individual. We need to recognize that we can determine only our own thoughts and actions, every other being has the free will to determine their own experience, even if it is harmful to his or her self, others, or the planet. And we must practice what we believe, rather than preaching.
So be kind and loving to yourself, and that attitude ripples out to those around you, which ripples out to those around each of them, and so reaches the entire world.
To be loving and kind also helps one live in a state of reciprocity--known in q'echua as Ayni--where one gives before one takes, takes no more than one needs, and treads softly on the mother.
The best way to begin that movement and change the attitude of how society treats the planet and each other is to begin with the new generation: to show them loving kindness; respect them so that they learn to respect others; and to teach them ayni by living in ayni ourselves.

Help

Innish, this is very wise.
I wanted to add when we give love we receive love,. By giving love to ourselves and nurture ourselves we automatically give love to the world. Also, when we start to see human beings as 'Team Human Beings' and connect as one - I wonder if an amazing Human Evolution can occur and how beautiful and powerful ithis could be. ?
