Issa - Jane Siberry

I read/listened to the NPR story on Issa, the Canadian singer who formerly went by the name Jane Siberry. It included a couple of her songs, which were pretty interesting. But even more interesting to me were two items about her own personal re-invention:
- Issa has given away almost everything she owns and now travels with simply a backpack and a laptop. To avoid looking like a backpacker, she wears "elegant expensive boots." A nice touch!
- She has also completely redesigned the way Sheeba, her record label does business. Viewers can download songs and choose how much they want to pay. Options include, "Gift from the artist" (free), "I'll pay later", a standard rate ($0.99), and an amount the viewer can enter. She's doing this to treat people fairly, knowing they have a good core. Very nice touch!
Trusting the universe to support her. How cool is that?

Hey Ki - good story - I used to listen to her music quite a bit. 'When I was a Boy' was one of my favorite albums. (You might want to do an edit and change her last name to 'Siberry')
